Kaila is getting married in July and these are just some photos of the bridal shower that we had for her. I am so excited for the wedding and can't wait for July to get here and neither can she! Her sister, Deb did a great job putting the shower together and making fun little games for us to play. My favorite was the bubble gum game where Kaila had to answer questions about Jacob and every question she got wrong she had to put another piece of gum in her mouth! Great idea! It was hilarious! Here is Deb who is the bride's maid of honor and also the flower girl! These two were too cute!

Lacon IL
I love to explore small towns, it's the SIU or the Dan Overturf that has been installed in me. Doug and I have been driving through Lacon when we moved up to Milwaukee last year and everytime I always want to stop and take pictures of this place, but obviously hadn't had the chance. So last Friday I got the urge to go out and drive. I want to go back and shot some more. It is just so nice to go and shoot a past love I had. In college I did a series on abandon places for a final project and these made me think of them. I have created a new goal for myself to continue this love of documentary and hopefully I will find the time. Here is the Illinois River on the Lacon side.

Old Jacksonville Rd.
Went out for a little adventure last week. Doug's grandfather had built this fence about 30 years ago all by hand. An artist had came by and painted a picture of this fence and the church that is behind it so anyways we wanted to try and recreate the painting, but because it is full spring we didn't get a chance because the trees had blocked the church. So I ended up just shooting some fun pictures of the fence and around the area. It was nice to go out and explore just like back in the old SIU days with my Rolle. I hope to do more of these kinds of photos and make time to just carry my camera around. It gets me excited and makes me feel like I am doing something I love to do all the time. :) Have a great day!
